Child safety standards

Sawa is for adults. Here is how to report a child safety concern.

Last updated: 13 September 2026

1. Adults only

Sawa is intended exclusively for people aged 18 and over. We do not permit minors to use the service. If we learn that a user is under 18, we remove their account. Report an underage account in the app or contact hello@joinsawa.ch.

2. Zero tolerance for exploitation

Sawa prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, solicitation and any conduct that sexually exploits or endangers children. Such activity results in removal of the content and termination of the responsible account.

3. Prevention and moderation

Reporting and blocking tools help people flag unsafe conduct. Certain chat text is checked automatically for prohibited content. Automatic checks have limitations and do not mean every photo, voice message or interaction has been screened.

Profile photos and shared media can be reported for review and removal. Reports can lead to restrictions, content removal or account termination.

4. How to report a concern

Use an available Report option in the app. Reporting controls can differ by app version. You can also email hello@joinsawa.ch with enough information to identify the account or incident. Child safety reports are prioritised.

Do not forward or attach illegal sexual material involving children. Describe where the content or conduct appeared so it can be investigated. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

5. Action and authorities

When we identify child sexual abuse or exploitation, we remove the content, terminate the responsible account, preserve relevant evidence and report to appropriate authorities, including NCMEC and/or relevant national or regional authorities where required by law.

6. Safety contact

Contact hello@joinsawa.ch for a child safety concern or to reach Sawa's designated contact for CSAE/CSAM matters.
