Is Sawa like Bumble BFF?
No. Bumble BFF is 1-on-1 — you swipe, you match, you hope they respond. Sawa matches you into a group of 5 at once. No swiping, no one-on-one awkwardness, and you get to meet 4 new people every match, not one.
Is it free?
Yes. Joining, matching, and chatting are all free. Some activity suggestions inside the app come from partners like GetYourGuide and Ticketcorner — if you book through us, the partner pays us a small commission (at no cost to you).
How do you keep it safe?
Three layers: every profile is verified as a real Swiss-resident human. All group chats are private and invite-only. And we enforce an 18+ age minimum at signup with a zero-tolerance policy for harassment or spam.
What if my matched group is quiet?
The Sawa AI sends an icebreaker when the group starts, so the awkward first 60 seconds are handled. If the vibe still isn't right after a week, you can leave and get re-matched — your next group is never more than 7 days away.
Why Switzerland only?
Because we want groups that can actually meet up. Matching people in the same city is what makes friendship real, not an internet pen-pal. Starting with Zurich, Geneva, Bern, Basel and Lausanne — more Swiss cities rolling out through 2026.
